Where the Mountains Speak ...

There are places that impress us with their beauty and others that make us slow down, look closer and simply listen. The Canadian Rockies are the kind of place where it is difficult not to be impressed. But photographing such an iconic landscape is another story. The challenge is to go beyond the spectacular view and find something of your own.

In this featured exhibition: My Canadian Rockies, Yongnan Li shares his personal experience of this remarkable part of the world.
Mountains, lakes, forests and wildlife naturally take centre stage, but what I enjoy most is the variety of moments he has brought back with him.
Sometimes it is the scale of the landscape that catches you, sometimes the light or a reflection and sometimes simply the human presence in the right place at the right moment.

There is a genuine enjoyment of nature throughout the series. You get the feeling that Yongnan was not simply looking for photographs, but enjoying the journey and allowing the photographs to come along the way.
It is a beautiful trip through the Canadian Rockies and, above all, a very personal one. I hope you enjoy discovering it!
